The Baseball Card Series

Sometime in 2010, I found myself in front of a collectible shop with a sign saying 'Free Baseball Cards - inquire within.' So I inquired and I ended up going home with two ginormous boxes of baseball cards. Why did this seem like a good idea? Because the year before, I had picked up a stray pile of cards and decided to draw on them. I saw potential in the motions and the actions and the dynamics depicted on the cards and drew to them. With all of these cards at my disposal, a few eventually became fifty, fifty became a hundred, and now I have a project that will probably never officially end.

These are the first eight. Every Wednesday, I will post more.

Redivider Journal 8.1

One of my favorite works, Fling, has recently been published in Redvider journal, Issue 8.1. They also interviewed me. I answered questions on subjects including, but not limited to inspiration, execution, and tools of the trade. You can find the interview here.

I am participating in Pro Arts East Bay Open Studios, which takes place on the first two weekends of June. Come by and see my studio. I will have an array of my best works from the past two years on display, and I will have a brand new shirt design available for sale. I will post visualization of the new shirt in the next few days.

The East Bay Open Studios open hours are June 5-6 and 12-13, from 11a-6p. I am map #149.

New show at Sonoma Coffee Cafe!

I have thirteen new pieces that will be on display at downtown Berkeley's Sonoma Coffee Cafe, an awesome, chill coffee shop located at 2131 Durant Ave, at the intersection with Fulton. My show goes up this coming Saturday, May 1st, and will be there until June 30th.

Artist reception will be held on Saturday, May 15th from 6-8pm. Come enjoy coffee and wine!
