The project I started last week has been growing slowly but steadily. Still no title yet, but I'm in no hurry to give it any sense of definition beyond each new shape I graft onto it.

I started a new project yesterday. This is my first time back on the bristol after about a year of baseball cards, sketchbooks, and random surfaces. No title yet, and no idea what this piece will end up looking like when it's complete.

Of the Darkening of Valinor

I've been reading The Silmarillion. For those not familiar, it is a posthumous publication of JRR Tolkien detailing the mythology and early events prior to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Inspired, I made this quick doodle depicting Morgoth and Ungoliant fresh off their raid upon Valinor, having killed the Two Trees of Valinor and taken the Silmarils.

Before I proceed to this week's batch of baseball cards on Wednesday, I want to give special attention to one of my favorite cards in the project. Known as the Kunkel Bridge, this theme occurs once more much much later in the series, and I will probably make more of them and have them all line up to tell a sort of concise story.
